Wally is leaning at lot about sports at Gladstone Central. Everyday each class goes out for 30mins to take part in Smart Moves - physical activity which involves huff and puff and skill learning. As we are now coming into winter in Australia our sports have changed a little. We play netball (like basketball but you can't bounce the ball), rugby league, basketball, Australian rules football and soccer. June is a big Track and Field month with our Sports Day being held very soon. In the summer months (November - January), our sports includes lots of swimming activities, cricket, basketball and volleyball. We also love to skip at Gladstone Central and have a pretty cool skipping demonstration team - video on the way!

In America we play basketball in winter then baseball and then football. And Philadelphia just got a soccer team!

ReplyDeleteIn Gladstone they do play baseball for boys and softball for boys & girls but the games are not as big as basketball or netball.

In the United States, most people play baseball and softball in the spring in summer,football and soccer in the fall and hockey and basketball in the winter. I play baseball,basketball,football and soccer. Is there any sport that is special in your area? Was it invented there?

ReplyDeleteHere in PA, we play a lot of sports. We play soccer, basketball, swimming and many more but it would take a lot of paper to write them all down. My favorite sport to play is basketball. Since I really enjoy playing basketball, I thought it was very interesting that your version of basketball you don't bounce the ball, and our version of basketball you have to bounce the ball or it would be called a travel.

ReplyDeleteWere we live the popular sports are football,basketball and baseball. Soccer is not as popular but some people play it around here.Here in Pennsylvania soccer and baseball are played in the spring and summer.Basketball and football are played in the Fall and the Winter.Are city Philadelphia has a new sports team.It's the Union soccer team.
