Wally's Stay With a Friend
Wally’s Page
Hey kids! I (Wally) stayed with some of my classmates on December 30-31. I had a blast! We went to the ice-skating rink.
I had SO much fun ice-skating. It reminded me being back on the ice. Even though I got wet, they told me that I skated beautifully.
When we got home, my host zoomed right to her sister’s bookshelf and grabbed 3 different books about Ben Franklin. She let me choose which book I wanted to read first. After that, I took a mini quiz on the back of the book. Guess how I did! I got 100%! She was so proud of me. I guess I am a Ben Franklin expert.
I learned that Ben Franklin convinced France to be in the war with America so they could defeat England and be a free country. Ben Franklin also started the first library so everybody could take books and read. Did you even know that there’s a museum called the Franklin Institute all about his phenomenal inventions? If you haven’t, I totally recommend it. Hey! Guess what? He even was one of our founding fathers! Ben’s a cool dude. He would so be a best friend of mine.
5 point Question: Who is a famous person that was born/ grew up in your state that did something similar to Benjamin Franklin?
P.S please respond to my question!

Hi we're from Timberwood Park in Texas. Ice skating sounds fun and Ben Franklin is a very cool person. Did you know that he was in the Ameican Constitution?
ReplyDeleteHere in Grand Island, Nebraska we learn about a couple of cool guys. Edward Perkins invented Kool-Aid. He lived in Hastings, which is close to us. The museum in Hastings has all kinds of Kool-Aid things for you to see. You can even watch all the commercials about Kool-Aid that have been on TV. Some of the ones from the 70s and 80s are funny. Harold Edgerton is another inventor who is from this area. He perfected the stop action flash photography that helps make movies.
ReplyDeleteRobert Fulton invented the steamboat. Milton Hershey invented a way to make milk chocolate more affordable to everyone by mass producing it. Betty James invented the Slinky toy. Charles Darrow invented the Monopoly game. James Forten invented a better sail for boats. These are just a few of the inventors that come from PA. Who are the famous inventors from your state and what did they invent?
